It is a “fabric of life” checkpoint, which allows the residents of the enclave of Bir Nabala,al Jib, Beit Hanina alBalad, al Judeira, to move in and out of it. It was moved later to Rafat. From time to time only people from the Ramallah District were allowed in. With completion of the fence around the enclave, in August 2008, the checkpoint was removed.
