In addition to dozens of permanent checkpoints, the Israeli Army operates hundreds of temporary checkpoints, nicknamed "flying checkpoints", throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Most of the flying checkpoints are on roads designated only for Palestinians. People going between villages and between towns never know how long it would take them to get to their destination, if they can get there at all, because of these flying checkpoints.
