15:20 Za’tara/Tapuach junction
A taxi is detained, its passengers have to get out.
22 cars on line.
16:30 Huwwara
Traffic flows, and almost no inspections.
A soldier demands that we stand on the other side of the booth standing at the entrance to the parking lot, saying that’s “always” been the rule.
16:30 Deir Sharaf/Barrels
A bus stands, flanked by military jeeps. We wait, and after about 7 minutes one of the jeeps drives off, as does the bus. The bus driver says that it was a “ routine” inspection.
16:50 Anabta
The checkpoint isn’t manned.
17:00 Irtah
People flow through; the light on the turnstile stays green. No line.
We’re told that this morning went smoothly.
