Since 2001 we have observed dozens of army checkpoints on paved and unpaved roads in the West Bank, the Jordan Valley and along the Separation Fence; Civil Administration offices which grant permits to Palestinians; and military courts trying Palestinian prisoners. We stand at the checkpoints observing the behavior of soldiers and Palestinians without interfering, intervening only when soldiers behave offensively to Palestinians. On the Green Line north of Route 557 and south of Tulkarm, operated by a civilian manpower company. Serves as exit and entry gate for workers from Tulkarm in Israel, and for transit of commercial quantities of goods by back-to-back method.

The place is empty and there isn't any traffic.

Far'un
A "rolling" checkpoint [unannounced mobile roadblock] has been set up here. Our question for the reason was unanswered.

Anabta
There are lines of about 10 cars in each direction. Not all the cars are checked. On the other hand, pedestrians are asked to raise their shirts.

Jubara
We were shocked to see that there are two lanes here: one for Jews and one for Israeli Arabs. The sign set up at the entrance to the lane for Jews says that the passage is allowed only to "Israelis who are entitled to immigrate to Israel according to the Law of Return 1950". What a disgrace!
