Since 2001 we have observed dozens of army checkpoints on paved and unpaved roads in the West Bank, the Jordan Valley and along the Separation Fence; Civil Administration offices which grant permits to Palestinians; and military courts trying Palestinian prisoners. We stand at the checkpoints observing the behavior of soldiers and Palestinians without interfering, intervening only when soldiers behave offensively to Palestinians. 14.00 Kefel Hart. At the entrance to the village two soldiers are checking cars entering and exiting.
14.20 Za'tara. 7 cars and the traffic flows.
14.30 Huwwara. Little traffic and a steady flow. The soldiers stop and check a taxi.
After 20 minutes we went to find out what was happening and the soldier said that because the passengers had no Ids it had taken them time to check. The car was freed.
