קלנדיה
בלוח העברי היום ג' חנוכה, יום חגיגי לילדי ישראל. אך כאן אין נסים. עבור התינוקות, הילדים ובני העשרה מתחיל יום נוסף של סבל וציפיה למעבר אחרי עמידה ארוכה בתור, ברוח המקפיאה של הבוקר.
6.45 - באולם ההמתנה הדומם משתרעים שני תורים ארוכים מאוד מול הקרוסלות, השער אל שרוולי המעבר, הנפתחות היום כל 5 עד 7 דקות, החל מהשעה 5 בבוקר. התור ייתם רק לקראת השעה שמונה וחצי.
גם בחנוכה לא יכול השוטר של יום שני לבצע שתי פעולות בו זמנית. מול שער הנשים, הילדים, החולים והקשישים ממתין המון גדול ואין מושיע. טלפונים אינספור הביאו לפתיחתו 45 דקות לאחר שהגענו !! מה עולה בראשו של שוטר, מה עולה בראשה של שוטרת, מה חושב קצין המת"ק ובמה מהרהרים החיילת והמאבטח כשהם עומדים מול ציבור הנשים המבוגרות , הזקנים הכושלים , האימהות הנושאות בידיהן תינוק בן יומו, תיק גדוש ומושב בטיחות וכל זאת בעמידה בתור הצפוף . מה הם חושבים מול הפנים המפצירות והדאוגות ??
כשנפתח סוף סוף שער הברזל , דוחפים בני העשרה את כל המבוגרים והתינוקות וממהרים לדרכם. אחר כך שוב המתנה ארוכה מאוד. כ 20 דקות חלפו עד לפתיחתו הבאה של השער למעבר, ושוב עומדים צפופים הממתינים כשבפנים השרוול כמעט ריק . איני יודעת מה בראשם של המופקדים על שערי הברזל, אך אני יודעת על מצב רוחם. הוא הלך והשתפר, עד שבתוך תא הזכוכית האטום פצחה השוטרת בשירה ודילגה, כי הרוח צעירה היא וזה זמן הרצת הצחוקים.
כשיצא קצין המת"ק לבקשתה של ג'ודי לפתוח את השער קרא לו השוטר בחזרה, כדי שלא נפגע בנשמתו הזכה. וכך עמדו להם השניים כעל מגש כסף, זה מול זה, תור הנשים, הקשישים והילדים, ומולם קבוצה חמושה ועולצת .
בשמונה וחצי נגמר הסיוט, התורים התקצרו מאד, ואנו פנינו לחזור לירושלים.
בתור המכוניות החלה סאגה חדשה.
כדאי להקדיש כמה מלים למחסום המכוניות. למחסום עצמו נכנסות המכוניות באטיות , אחת אחת ובדחילו ורחימו. בתחילתו של מסלול הבדיקה מתנוסס משמאל לטור המכוניות מגדל חדש וגבוה, וממנו כמו מצריח מסגד, בוקעות צעקות רמות בעברית ובערבית. ליושבים במכוניות הסגורות ( הן מחמת האבק והלכלוך והן מאימת המוכרים התוקפנים ) נשמעות הצעקות כבליל חסר משמעות ואין לדעת למי הן מכוונות. מימין לטור המכוניות ניצב הביתן הנטוש שממנו בקעו עד לפני זמן מה הגערות. כאן, בין הצעקות החדשות משמאל וביתן הגערות הקודם מסתדרות המכוניות בשני טורים. לפני שער זה משתרעת רחבה, כעין מעגל תנועה גדרות תיל גבוהות ומיותרות להחריד. לצידן מנווטים דרכם האוטובוסים ובשוליה נדחפות המכוניות מכל עבר ולכל עבר.
קשה לתאר את המהומה. בין חומות בטון מאולתרות ( סככת הרמאדן שחלף או אולי זה שיבוא ) וגדר מתכת אימתנית מצטופפים המכוניות והאוטובוסים והאמבולנסים הממתינים למחסום וביניהם !! חולפות המכוניות לרמאללה וממנה .
לאחר הסיוט התמידי הזה הבדיקה השגרתית במחסום כמעט שולית. אך היום חג ולנו קרה נס חנוכה ונסענו, ג'ודי ואני , ישר לזרועותיו של חייל מ.צ. יחיד במסלול הימני. כשנמצאים שני בוקדים במעבר, נראה שאחד מהם מסוגל להפעיל שיקול דעת ולהרגיע את חברו המסור לבטחוננו.
מה בודקים במכונית חשודה העושה פניה לירושלים - נדרשתי להרים את השטיח המכסה את רצפת המטען והגלגל הרזרבי . אך על השטיח ניצב ארגז גדול וכבד של שמן זית ואף אחד לא היה מסוגל ולא התכוון להזיזו. לאחר הרהור עמוק עבר החייל לחזית המכונית, אלא שאף אחד לא ידע איך לפתוח את מכסה המנוע.
בחיים האזרחיים כל זה שייך לעולמו של המוסך, אך לחייל נאמר שאסור לו לגעת במכונית, וכך חיכינו כולנו דקות ארוכות עד שהתגייס חייל אחר עז נפש וגילה את הידית המשחררת את מכסה המנוע. מראה המנוע המאובק הרגיע מיד את הלוחם ואנו שבנו לירושלים.
