Since 2001 we have observed dozens of army checkpoints on paved and unpaved roads in the West Bank, the Jordan Valley and along the Separation Fence; Civil Administration offices which grant permits to Palestinians; and military courts trying Palestinian prisoners. We stand at the checkpoints observing the behavior of soldiers and Palestinians without interfering, intervening only when soldiers behave offensively to Palestinians. There was no problem or line of vehicles in any direction.
15:00 Huwwara:
The traffic was flowing smoothly into Nablus. Out of Nablus both lanes were in use. One lane seemed to be for a very quick look at the cars going throuigh, and the other lane seemed to be for more thorough checks. A minibus was detained in the second lane for about 10 minutes.
A new booth for soldiers checking cars going into Nablus has been set up at the entrance to the parking lot.
