מאז 2001 אנו משקיפות מדי יום בעשרות מחסומי צה"ל הנמצאים בתוך הגדה, בבקעת הירדן, על גדר ההפרדה, בכבישים ראשיים ובדרכי עפר צדדיות; במשרדי המינהל האזרחי (מת"קים) שם מונפקים לפלסטינים אישורים שונים; בבתי משפט צבאיים בדיונים של עצירים פלסטינים. הצוות שלנו שוהה במחסום ככל הנדרש ועוקב אחרי התנהלות החיילים והפלסטינים, ללא הפרעה. לעיתים, לנוכח יחס בוטה וקשה אל הפלסטינים, יש ואנו מנסות להתערב באמצעות פנייה ישירה אל החיילים או בטלפון למפקדיהם. הדוחות מהתצפיות מתפרסמים באתר זה בעברית ובאנגלית.

הגענו לקלנדיה בשעה 05:30 התור היה קצר והמעבר מהיר.
ההבדל העיקרי מבעבר היה בכך ש"הכלובים" היו ריקים ואנשים הוכנסו למתחם ועמדו שם בתור. ההתנהלות הזו הורידה מהלחץ הפסיכולוגי של הממתינים. כל העמדות היו פתוחות והמעבר עצמו לקח כ-20 דקות. משיחות עם העוברים שמענו כי ביומיים האחרונים חל כנראה שיפור במעבר. יחד עם זאת קשה שלא להבחין בכעס המצטבר על הצורך לעבור את דרך החתחתים הזו מדי יום.
ילדים רבים מגיעים למחסום לפני השעה שבע כאשר המעבר "ההומניטרי" נפתח, והקטנים על ילקוטיהם הכבדים נאלצים לעמוד בתור הלחוץ, בין מבוגרים הממהרים לעבודה ואינם פנויים לפנות להם מקום. כאשר נפתח התור ההומניטרי בשעה 06:50 היתה נהירה גדולה אליו בעיקר של תלמידים.
בעוד אנו עומדות ליד המעבר לתור "ההומניטרי" נעמדה אשה בשנות השלושים לחייה לידינו, ובעברית רהוטה התלוננה על כך כי בהתחשב בסידורים הנוהגים במחסום אין לה סיכוי להגיע בזמן לעבודה. בימים כתיקונם היא עוברת במכוניתה אך היום שינתה משום ממנהגה מסיבות שלא ניסינו לברר. היא סיפרה כי היא עובדת בקונסוליה האמריקאית במזרח ירושלים וגרה ברמאללה. דקה או שתיים לאחר שנפתח השער "ההומניטרי" שמענו צעקות וראינו שחלק מהילדים שעברו נשארו על עומדם מתבוננים באירוע חריג. עוד דקה או שתיים וראינו (בצילום משמאל) את האשה אזוקה ושוטר מוביל/גורר/דוחף אותה באלימות לא מבוטלת. האשה נראתה הלומה לחלוטין. התקשרנו מיד לקונסוליה האמריקאית למספר חרום והודענו על המקרה. דיברנו גם עם המינהל האזרחי, עוטף ירושלים, וביקשנו גם את התערבותם.
לאחר זמן קצר התקשרו מהמינהל האזרחי אלינו וביקשו שנבהיר את מה שראינו. בשעה 09:30 התקשרנו לקונסוליה האמריקאית לנסות לברר האם שלום לאשה, אך הם סירבו לענות ורק ציינו כי העניין הועבר לטיפול קצין הביטחון של השגרירות.
כאשר עזבנו בשעה 08:00 כבר לא היה תור.
לפי ספירת האקומנים (שספירתם אינה מדוייקת) עברו היום 2500 אנשים.
בעודי רושמת דוח זה התקשרו מביטחון הקונסוליה האמריקאית לברר מה שראינו - נקווה כי העניין יסתיים בהקדם.
