מאז 2001 אנו משקיפות מדי יום בעשרות מחסומי צה"ל הנמצאים בתוך הגדה, בבקעת הירדן, על גדר ההפרדה, בכבישים ראשיים ובדרכי עפר צדדיות; במשרדי המינהל האזרחי (מת"קים) שם מונפקים לפלסטינים אישורים שונים; בבתי משפט צבאיים בדיונים של עצירים פלסטינים. הצוות שלנו שוהה במחסום ככל הנדרש ועוקב אחרי התנהלות החיילים והפלסטינים, ללא הפרעה. לעיתים, לנוכח יחס בוטה וקשה אל הפלסטינים, יש ואנו מנסות להתערב באמצעות פנייה ישירה אל החיילים או בטלפון למפקדיהם. הדוחות מהתצפיות מתפרסמים באתר זה בעברית ובאנגלית.

06:00 – הבוקר התחלפו הרוח הצורבת והקור המקפיא בסתם קור רגיל של חורף.
תורים ארוכים ארוכים ושקטים נמשכים עד למגרש החנייה. בשעה זו ממשיכים להגיע עשרות ומאות אנשים בדרכם לעבודה. עוד מעט יבואו גם התלמידים. האם לנצח מה שהיה הוא גם מה שיהיה ?
המתנדב האקומני מספר לנו ששרוול אחד היה סגור במשך זמן קצר ומיד התעכבה העבודה והתור התארך ונראה בלתי נסבל כרגיל. אך האנשים שקטים ולמודי נסיון כולם , מבחינים ביד יותר בוטחת שמכוונת היום את המעבר. תוך כמה דקות מגיע קצין המת"ק ואחר כך גם קצין משטרה . השער ההומניטרי ייפתח מעתה כל כמה דקות ומאות אנשים יעברו דרכו כאילו הכל בסדר . ואולי טעינו , והם בכלל בדרכם לרכבת (ואולי זו בכלל רכבת ישראל שמנהלת את המחסומים ?). לאחר שעה קשה של בוקר כולם מתקדמים ותחושה של נחמה משותפת מקיפה את המחסום וממתיניו השונים – היום יש סיכוי להגיע בזמן ולהרגיש במשך יום אחד כארץ אחרת.
ילדים – במשך כמעט שעה , בין 06:15 ל – 07:10 עברו במחסום 90 ילדים . רובם נערות ונערים , מיעוטם ילדי בי"ס עממי ומעט ילדים קטנים עם הוריהם .
כשהשער ההומניטרי פתוח באופן סדיר ההבעה משתנה , כולם רגועים ונינוחים ומברכים לשלום
