| Morning

09:00 We depart from the Rosh Ha'Ayin train station
09:30  We reach Haris
As usual, the meeting is joyous.  The lesson begons with a competitive game that arouses excitement:  find words (from the vocabulary  they acquired) that begin with a particular letter.  This is a chance to see what they have achieved so far.
Later we focussed on "What time is it?".  This enabled rehearsal of numbers in feminine and masculine form.  Using a clock we practiced hours, half hours, and quarter hours.
At the end, to our mutual disappointment, the club manager announced there would be no classes in the coming 2 weeks.  Her daughter is getting married and she is busy with the preparations.  She is not willing to entrust the keys to anyone else.  A pity.

09:30  We leave Haris Village towards the CP.  The checkpoint is open, but a military vehicle stands next to it.  We drive through Salfit to Iskaka. One of the villagers reports that it is quiet there today, but the Yasuf villagers have continuous conflits with the Tapuah settlers.  As we converse, a military jeep enters, and then leaves. At Tapuah junction the parking lot is empty.  There re no soldiers at the bus stop, but two where the hitchhikers stand.  Police stop cars to see if they did their winter checks.
11:00 On our way back we no longer see the vehicle at the entrance to Haris.

The village has 4,500 people and they have 5,000 dunams of land. The entrance to the village is blocked and opened arbitrarily, without informing the residents. The village has a seasonal checkpoint that blocks the road to the agricultural land and this checkpoint opens once a year! 2,500-3,000 dunams were stolen from the village in order to build the settlements of Revava and Netafim, which are located west of Haris.

The center of the village is Area B and around Area C. The population grows but the occupation does not permit new construction in Area C.

    • Za'tara (Tapuah) Za'tara is an internal checkpoint in the heart of the West Bank, at the intersection of Road 60 and Road 505 (Trans-Samaria), east of the Tapuah settlement. This checkpoint is the "border" marked by the IDF between the north and south of the West Bank, in accordance with the policy of separation between the two parts of the West Bank that has been in place since December 2005. At the Za'tara checkpoint, there are separate routes for Israelis and Palestinians. In the route for Israelis, there are no inspections and the route for Palestinians inspects. The queue lengthens and shortens suits. The checkpoint is open 24 hours a day. The checkpoint is partially staffed and the people who pass through it are checked at random.
