Rihan, Shaked, Jalama, Sunday, December 4, 2005, AMObservers: Hana H., Raya Z., Leah R. (reporting)Rihan, 06:10:The checkpoint opened at 05:30. Everyone had already gone through. The soldiers said that the checkpoint would soon start opening at 05:00.07:30 Shaked: The children and teachers crossed on time.08:45 Jalama: Everything running as it should. The soldiers are fair and efficient. Pedestrians are passing in orderly fashion. People are smiling and satisfied. At the back-to-back checkpoint, a driver who on Wednesday had been held up on his way to Nablus from 11:00 to 20:30, with no explanation, and then sent on his way without a check, told us that there are a lot of delays on the road.Problems that recur:1. The army experts on agriculture ruled that there is at present no need for agricultural work. Why does a landowner need a permit to get to his own fields?2. It is some time now that the carpet weavers from the plant at Shahak have not been allowed to pass. There are no answers to telephone calls and questions as to why.
