Ezyon DCO
Bethlehem and surrounding areaSunday, December 25, AMObservers: Sylvia P, Ofra B, Chana A (reporting)As the weather was beastly and the day was Xmas day, we decided to leave later and leave out the Bethlehem gate as well as El Khader and go directly to the Ezyon DCL.Nevertheless, we drove by the Bethlehem CP, and it was empty except for one crosser. We saw the minibus service 124 there to pick up whoever needed its services. We also drove into the El Khader obstructed road and it was full of puddles, as expected, with taxis, but hardly any passers and no stands.8:15 Ezyon DCL: Cold inside the leaky shed which has fans for hot weather but no heating for cold days. There were few men waiting to get their magnetic cards. Two of those were people for whom we were successful in getting their GSS refusal removed, a father and his son. They were grateful and that made us happy, although it had taken half a year to get this done. Hani, the father from A-Tur, whose five year old daughter is in and out of the Hadassa Hospital, was there to get his entry permit for the week. Without this he cannot bring his daughter to the hospital or visit her. He is not young, has worked in Jerusalem for seventeen years, but does not have Jerusalem residency and is bitter about the running around he has to do every week. After two hours, we left, our feet and hands numb from the cold
