Abu Dis, ContainerTues. 21.03.06 PMObservers: Julia W. Rina H. Rahel W. (reporting)We got to the old pishpash at about 2:00 p.m. There were some border police there but people were crossing freely. There were no detainees. Further down the road, there were black garbed security men, obviously to guard the building equipment. Some people were also crossing through that area.We went through the missing block of the new pishpash and went directly to the Container. Our driver told us that the word is that people will continue to be allowed through the pishpash until the end of the school year because it would be too disruptive to force every one to go through Az Za’ayyem now. Then, the pishpash will be permanently closed. (This is hearsay, but he is a pretty dependable source). At the Container, traffic moved very quickly in both directions. Unlike the previous weeks, there were almost no workers returning home. Traffic was rather sparse – perhaps because this was the day when a suicide bomber was located and there were checkpoints all over the place. On our return to Jerusalem, by way of the old Jerusalem/Jericho road, there were enormous traffic jams because of a flying checkpoint near the Church of All Nations. Almost all vehicles were stopped and checked – including tourist buses that were boarded by the border police.
