On previous shifts when we went down towards the DCO we saw what we thought was a tunnel on the right side of the road. Now we saw that the same thing was being done on the opposite side of the road. Obviously so as to get rid of the Palestinian vehicles. Out of sight is out of mind. Not that for most Israelis it is not a problem to keep them out of mind.

At the army post there was again a second checkpoint for Palestinian vehicles. How is it that the Jewish vehicles just sail past but the Palestinians stop. There is a sign in  English and Hebrew  but no Arabic that they should do so.  But they are well trained.

Someone asked me how our health was and we said the same as that of the  country….not so good.

The waiting room was clean but there was the most irritating sound which was like a musical version of the water torture.   A high-pitched beep which varied from time to time. We could not imagine sitting there with it piercing our brains for a long time. Another way to persecute the Palestinians who are captives waiting for their names to be called out.
