Etzion DCO: Does the occupier work on a Palestinian holiday?
An elderly man had paid 170 shekels for an appointment to obtain the magnetic card. He did not have the details of the person to whom he had paid and had arrived to find there was no appointment listed for him. We advised him to go into the offices to try to find out if there had been a misunderstanding.
A very pleasant young couple came in. The man is a music teacher at the university and we all agreed that this was a bright light in dark days. We have very seldom found that people are unpleasant when we ask them questions though often they are at first suspicious.
Next week is Eid al Fitr but we will go to the DCO out of curiosity as to whether the DCO will respect the holiday or, even on such a day, the Palestinians will be called in for questioning.
