Etzion DCO: Renewing magnetic cards takes long hours
We arrived at the DCO and were surprised to find the carpark full. But on going inside, where about 12 people were sitting, we realised that all those present were Christian Arabs waiting for a magnetic card. We were glad to hear that the IDF had not called anyone in for questioning. At least some consideration. But not for those who had come for the magnetic. There was only one clerk on duty and in the hour or so that we were there only `4 other people came out who evidently had been inside for quite a time as they had gone in before we arrived. Those waiting had been there for close to two hours and as it was nearly 12 o’clock they would probably have to wait until one o’clock after the so-needed lunch break
The toilet for the woman has been locked for many years…in fact it is difficult to remember that once it was open. We have a fervent hope that one day the IDF clerks …hard to describe them as soldiers…especially the women, will find themselves overseas in situations where they cannot find a toilet.
We have noticed the immense amount of work on the road for the settlers and noticed the deep excavation on part of the road, wondering if this is meant for underground roads for the Palestinians but I only found two articles about the roads now being built and an article by Josh Breiner on the road making in area A of which I am also enclosing a link. This is mainly for human rights activists overseas to understand what is being done.
