Ar-Ram and Qalandiya, Tuesday, July 20th, AMObservers: Channa A., Rachel O., (reporting)Ar-Ram, 6.40 – 7.00, 8.00 – 9.00. The regular business. The border police seem to know their job. No special problems. The well-known line for vehicles. Waiting time can be as long as half an hour, especially when it comes to transits and buses.Qalandiya, 7:00 – 8:00. The military unit stationed at the checkpoint is more polite and flexible than the previous one. For one thing, they don’t point their guns at the public. Clearly the human side is dominant. Many pedestrians in both directions, especially from Jerusalem to Ramallah. We didn’t encounter any special problems. However, like in Ar-Ram, the line of incoming cars is long. Some fifteen cars are waiting.
