‘Anabta, Jit, Qalqiliya, Thu 31.1.08, Morning
7.00 Qalqiliya
There are 10 cars waiting to leave town. Passage is slow and within 5 minutes the line grew to 12 cars. Checking is very strict.
7.40 – Jit Junction is unmanned, but the house between Al Funduq to Qedumim seems occupied by settlers. This was our deduction having seen a settler girl, standing on the road below the house, trying to catch a lift.

The cabs have been told to stand even further away from the CP opposite the Enav junction. For pedestrians it means a long haul to get to the cabs. While we were talking to the cab drivers a military Hummer sped down the road, on the opposite side of the white line, in the middle of the road while overtaking the cars waiting to turn at the junction. We did not succeed in getting his number.
Upon arrival at the CP there were no lines of cars. A dog trainer with dog was present
A few moments later the soldiers decided to check a car with the dog. This was done in the middle of the road, which stopped other cars getting across and a line of 25 cars developed. The CP commander explained that a car may not be placed at the side of the road for the checkup. This seemed strange as minutes later he decided to detain a car and told the driver to park it on the side of the road. Checking was slow and the number of cars in line grew to 30. The CP commander said they have warning of a terrorist. When we left at 10.30 the line was long a irksome.
Due to lack of time we did not visit Jubara.

The checkpoint is located south of the village of 'Anabta, at the intersection of Road 60 (leading to Nablus at the entrance to Area A), with Road (57, 557, 5576) facing west towards the Einav settlement and the checkpoint at the exit from the West Bank - Figs checkpoint. Until 2010 we used to watch the intersection and report the long columns created due to a slow inspection of the vehicles in both directions.

There was a checkpoint for vehicles passing between the north and south of the West Bank, which was abolished towards 2010. Qalqiliya checkpoint

Qalqilya is surrounded on all sides by the separation barrier. The only exit from the city is in the east of the city on the road that leaves the city in an easterly direction. This is where the checkpoint was located. When the checkpoint was active until 2009 our shifts watched long queues of cars being inspected at the only exit from the city to the West Bank. The checkpoint was canceled, but there is a military presence at the entrance to the city.
