Eliyahu Passage
06:00 – the passage was opened at 05:00. There are still many workers waiting, but they do not push. They conduct a list of the queue and women and elderly people enter without queueing. The checking in the small pavilion is manual, there is no computerization and is very slow. Every 4 minutes on the average 5 workers enter. The CP soldiers approached us, politely it must be admitted, asking us to move away from the fence to the pillbox which is a distance away. When we didn't agree they stood next to us claiming that they are obliged to guard us because thePalestinians inside the fence were not yet checked.

According to the workers, in order to be first, arrive at 03:00 a.m.

Ras Attiya
07:00 When we approached the CP the CP commander came towards us and didn't enable us to approach. When we showed him a paper he said that he would let us approach only by order of the DCO or the Battalion Commander.

A small number of workers passed at the CP, and after some time a few cars arrived. The checking is as it was in the past: the passengers have to get off the car, they are checked, they pass through the CP on foot and the car, after having been checked, lets the passenger get on it.

A car which didn't have an authorization had to return and it's driver went to look for a hike.

The Barrels CP
08:30 Reserve soldiers, some of which were settlers, conducted an argument with us about the fact that there is no difference between 48 and 67. There is no checking of cars. Cars of Israeli Arabs are allowed to enter on Saturdays only.

Antaba
09:00 – a luxurious CP, with only 2 soldiers sitting in a cubicle near the entrance. When we approached we heard in the loudspeaker system: please do not advance into the CP.

The checkpoint is located south of the village of 'Anabta, at the intersection of Road 60 (leading to Nablus at the entrance to Area A), with Road (57, 557, 5576) facing west towards the Einav settlement and the checkpoint at the exit from the West Bank - Figs checkpoint. Until 2010 we used to watch the intersection and report the long columns created due to a slow inspection of the vehicles in both directions.

    •   Eyal Checkpoint is intended for pedestrians and Palestinians only. This is the main barrier for workers to cross from the center of the West Bank. Workers with a work permit to enter Israel can pass through it for trade, medicine, and visiting prisoners. The checkpoint was built on the Green Line north of Qalqilya in the separation barrier that surrounds the city. The checkpoint began operating in 2004 by the military. Opening hours on weekdays from 04:00 to 19:00. We started holding shifts there in 2007. We arrived at the checkpoint before it opened at 4 in the morning. We reported on the difficult conditions and the long and cramped queues of workers who must continue their journey by commuting to work throughout Israel. At the end of June 2009, the checkpoint was operated by a civil security company, The transit time has been gradually shortened, today it is faster, but the Palestinians still have to arrive very early to make it to the transportation. Usually, about 15,000 people pass through.
