Tour for Activists from the Israeli Democratic Party
“You have to see it to believe it,” remarked the activists from the Democratic Party at the end of the tour of the West Bank.
Nurit and I (Daphne) invited activists from the Democrats party to participate in a tour to witness what the criminals the settlers and hilltop boys are doing to the Palestinians, and to understand what how the country is deteriorating.
Our first stop was in the outskirts of the village of Duma, where three hoodlums on an ATV attacked all of us. None of us are young people. They knocked Raanan down violently. They beat us for nearly an hour again and again in an attempt to confiscate our mobile phones. During the tour we saw communities of shepherds who were deathly afraid and trying to defend themselves against repeated attacks. We saw the village of Mu`arajat whose residents had all fled because they were unable to stand the constant violence of the settlers, who are aided by the army and the police.
On the other hand, we saw the positive aspects of Israel in the form of the activists in the field who are far too few, who endanger themselves each day to protect the Palestinian communities and the image of the State of Israel. They joined us activists from the Palestinian Jordan Valley and women from Machsom Watch. as we witnessed the occupation with our own eyes.

אני (דפנה) ונורית הזמנו לסיור את הדמוקרטים, כדי שיראו את מה שנערי/מתנחלי הגבעות העבריינים מעוללים לפלסטינים, ובעיקר להבין לאן המדינה מתדרדרת.
בעצירה הראשונה, בפאתי הכפר דומא אשר מותקף תדיר, זינקו לעברנו שלושה פורעים על טרקטורון ותקפו את הפעילים ואת שתינו. כולנו אנשים לא צעירים. את רענן דחפו והפילו באלימות ארצה; אותנו היכו במשך קרוב לשעה שוב ושוב, בעיקר מאחור, כדי לחטוף מידנו את הטלפונים. בסיור ראינו קהילות רועים מבוהלות עד מוות, מנסות להתגונן נגד מתקפות חוזרות. ראינו את הכפר הגדול מועראג’את, שכל תושביו עזבו כי לא יכלו לשאת עוד את האלימות היום-יומית של המתנחלים, בעזרתם הפעילה של הצבא והמשטרה.
מצד שני ראינו גם את ישראל היפה, את אותם פעילי השטח, אומנם מעטים מדי, שמחרפים את נפשם מדי יום להגן על הקהילות הפלסטיניות וכן… גם על פניה של מדינת ישראל. הם הצטרפו אלינו, למסתכלים לכיבוש בעיניים, לפעילי בקעת הירדן ומחסוםווטש.

A village in the Nablus governorate, with 3,000 residents. They owned some 18,000 dunams, 500 dunams of which the village itself was built. However, after the settlement of Migdaleim annexed a large part of their land, their area was reduced to only 2,000 dunams.On July 31, 2015, two houses in the town were torched with petrol bombs. Sa'ad and Riham Dawabsha, and their infant, Ali Sa'ad Dawabsha, were burned to death. Another son was seriously injured. "Revenge" and "King Messiah" were spray painted on the walls of the house. The trial of the arsonist, the settler Amiram Ben Uliel, is still underway (2019), and a plea bargain was signed in May 2018 with the minor who participated in the planning of the arson.
The closure imposed by the army, the poor roads that they are forced use due to the lack of paving permits from the Civil Administration, along with the lack of public transportation, all these difficulties cut off the village from nearby Nablus and Ramallah.
