When we began, we thought we knew everything there is to know about Palestinians, about the Israeli army, and about the Jewish settlers – the three main characters in the tragedy of Occupation. Soon enough and through activity in the area, we learned how wrong we had been. How far we had been misled. We resembled the entire Israeli public. Understanding made us stronger: we must end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Occupied Territories.
The Four Mothers movement, who were the motivating force behind Israel’s retreat from Lebanon in 2000, inspired us. But unlike them, we went right into the heart of the matter, straight to the (until today) bleeding friction spots between the occupation forces, the settlement project, and the occupied population.
