Investigator: Ihab Halabi

Defense: Judd Kadmani, Maamoun Hashim, Tako Reuven

There are 8 cases in the docket, one of a minor (behind closed doors), two of detaineesinfo-icon barred from seeing counsel (one of these has already been transferred to Ofer).

We report on one case of the “barred” detainee, the part where the sides exchange questions and answers while the detainee is absent from court, which is the part we attended.

Most of the other cases ended with plea bargains and were moved to the prosecution. In these cases (with detainees from Bethlehem and Beit Jala) the protocols differ only in the names and ID numbers of the detainees.

Muhammad Harabi Fahed Halabia – ID 404290389

Born: 1999.

Arrested on 9.12.18.

Suspected of endangering security in the region and participating in disturbances.

The investigator requests a 15-day remand extension.

Q: How old are the suspicions?

A: They are current.

Q: Was there injury?

A: Yes,

Q: Why is he barred from seeing counsel?

A: By law and for the benefit of the investigation.

Q: Has he linked himself to the charge?

A: At this stage he denies the allegations.

Q: Did you investigate the case before his arrest?

A: Affirmative.

Q: Is it a strong suspicion?

A: It is in the secret file.

Q: Does he have an alibi?

A: In the secret file.

Defense summation: We object to the request. If he is accused of a specific event on a certain day, or if he has an alibi – this may render other investigations unnecessary. There ought to be a judicial review. The detainee is barred from seeing an attorney and is not receiving any legal aid.

We left the court with the attorneys, and the detainee was brought in.

Judge’s decision: 8-day remand extension.

The suspicions against the other detainees (where agreements were reached): participating in disturbance of the peace [e.i. demonstrations] and danger to security in the region.
