Morning

07:10-08:10 Shaked-Tura Checkpoint
About 25 people were waiting to go through from Tura (in the West Bank) to the seamline zone.  By 07:35 everyone had gone through.  People who had come through from the seamline zone to the West Bank did not have to enter the inspection booth and only had their I.D. cards checked.

08:20-09:30 Reihan-Barta’a Checkpoint

No vans with merchandise were waiting.  All the vans that arrived have already been checked.  Passenger vehicles were checked quickly.

There were quite a few people working in East Barta’a.  One of them brought some rather large part for a car and was not permitted to bring it through the terminal.

Drivers said that the police “is make problems” for drivers who are not certified taxi drivers.  This is one of the reasons for the few drivers in the Palestinian parking lot.
They also said that there was extensive road construction work being done near the village of Emricha on the road to Jenin.  For what purpose?  When I want to leave the checkpoint the security guard calls the shift manager, who asks if I took pictures in the Palestinian parking lot.  According to him, it is forbidden to photograph anywhere within the area of the checkpoint.
