Afternoon

Groups of workers returning from work were being checked by a border policeman, not by the soldiers on duty there. The border policeman checked each ID card and wrote something on a list that he was making. We had no idea what he was listing. Then the workers went into the village. Three men were being detained there at the entrance, "for checking."

The soldier in charge of the checkpoint called his officer when we asked to go into the village, and reported that the answer was negative. We didn't argue with him.
