Morning

Translation: Bracha B.A.

We began the shift later in order to bring a Palestinian man and woman to Rambam Hospital at 14:00.

10:30 – Shaked Checkpoint
is closed.

Reihan Barta'a Checkpoint
The parking lot is full.  Six vehicles loaded with merchandise were waiting on the road.

Dotan Checkpoint
There are several charcoal factories operating along the road that are paving the road.  At the checkpoint itself soldiers behave properly. Traffic is moving without any delays.  We entered the settlement of Dotan.  There is hardly anyone about and we spoke with the guard at the gate.  Most of the houses look locked.  We suggested that they open bed and breakfast facilities when there is peace.  The guard agrees on condition that they don't give [the land] back.  Anything is possible under Palestinian rule…ON the bay back we saw cars parked at the entrance to Zbeida in the improvised parking lots and the Palestinian parking lot at Reihan was also full.  We were told that some of the workers had been sent back home because there is a closureinfo-icon until Wednesday (Israeli Independence Day is Tuesday) and the crossings at Jalameh and Tibeh will be closed.

At 11:45 we picked up the two Palestinians who needed a ride to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.  When we reached Haifa we had to help them get through the labyrinth of Rambam Hospital because the worker whom they had been instructed to meet was not there.   They finally got to where they were supposed to go and made contact with the worker who would bring them back home.
