Morning

07:30  Shaked-Tura checkpoint
Three cars waited to enter the West Bank; two cars, a herd of goats, and one man waited to enter the seam zone.  Y. complained again that they detain him repeatedly at the checkpoint, making earning a living as a driver difficult. He doesn’t know why they detain him.

A decent employer from Zichron Ya’akov wanted to pay his Palestinian worker’s salary on the eve of Ramadan.  The validity of the worker’s permit had expired and he hadn’t yet received a new permit.  The soldiers at the checkpoint refused to allow the employer and the employee meet in the area of the checkpoint.  The worker had to bring a relative with a valid permit to collect the money.

08:55  Reihan-Barta’a checkpoint
Drivers without work waited for passengers.

People working in the eastern side of Barta’a crossed as usual.

Those without permits don’t come to the checkpoint.

More trucks than usual loaded with agricultural produce were waiting, apparently in preparation for the month of Ramadan.

09:45:  We left a checkpoint that was “operating normally.”
