Afternoon

Natanya translating.

15.20  Beit Furik checkpoint.  A Hammer is parked next to the sentry tower with soldiers next to it. We did not see cars being stopped.

15.30 Huwwara checkpoint. A soldier is next to the post at the exit of Nablus and another next to the post of those coming from Nablus. We did not see any delays.  A soldier guards the hitching post of the settlement of Bracha. Notices there call for enlistment in helping to raise new settlements. The meeting place is Shvut Ami. (How many times have they returned there?)

15.45 Next to the checkpoint of Za’tara stands a red car. A police car is next to it. A soldier stands there. We were told that often a policeman and a soldier work together.

15.47  Za’tara CP. Border police man the post. Sometimes a line forms and then disappears. IN THE PARKING BAY IS A PALESTINIAN CAR AND YOUNG MEN WHO HAVE BEEN DETAINED.

There is a Menorah at the checkpoint.

A military jeep parks on road 5 next to the village of As Sawiya.

16.05 The Shomron crossing. A woman soldier checks all our IDs and asks the reason for our trip.

16.10  Azzun Atma. Workers returning and they are checked at the entrance to the village.
