Morning

Translated by Yael S.

09:00 -10:00 Shaked-Tura checkpoint

Who ever arrived had a passage permit and went through.

We  often come across problems with residents of Daher-il-Malec and Um Reihan, located in the Seam Line zone, who have changed vehicles and their new cars are not registered on the passage permit. They have no use of the car if they cannot take it through the checkpoint. Their home is in the Seam Line zone and the center of their live is on the other side of the fence, in the West Bank. Passage is dependent on the good will of the soldier at the checkpoint. Without registration in the permit, they might or might not pass. This morning we encountered such a problem - a family with three babies who had difficulties returning home. Following a rather long delay they went through.

10:10 - 11:20 Reihan-Barta'a checkpoint

Six trucks waited in front of the inspection post before going up to the inspection facility.

Merchants and workers in East Barta'a with proper permits went through with no problems. A few crossed over from Barta'a to the West Bank.

We drove back through Bart'a. The market street was closed for vehicles due to the filming of an American movie about Iraq. Unfortunately not all residents of Barta'a played extras.
