Afternoon
Etzion DCL: very few in the waiting hall, entering for service was immediate. On the other hand those waiting for Shabak (General Security Services) wait a very long time with no one to complain to. Tomorrow is a Greek Orthodox holiday and people are here to request permits. We intervened on behalf of two women who were given permits despite the fact that "the quota was complete". A man requesting a magnetic card was caught up in bureaucratic snags, and the problem was solved with our intervention. Before we left an elderly blind couple arrived accompanied by a person who led them. We drew the soldier's attention and the turnstile was immediately opened.
As usual, we were asked about Silvia, and we handed out her telephone number.
At the roundabout of Etzion junction on Route 60 the positions are manned, and at the tunnels checkpoint investigations are rather more thorough than usual.
