Morning

Translation: Bracha B.A.

The weather is dusty and unpleasant.

09:00– Shaked-Tura Checkpoint

A man from Dahar-al -Malakh told us that his wife, who was from Baka-al-Sharkiya in the West Bank, traveled to visit her parents and stayed for some time.  While she was there her permit, which showed she was a resident of the seamline zone, expired, and she has not been permitted to return home to her family, and her request for renewal was refused. Her husband remains in Dahar al Malakh where he earns his living raising chickens.  He sends his children to school in Tura each day and his family helps care for them. He also mentions that he would like to expand his home, but, of course, he cannot receive a building permit.

Few people pass through the checkpoint.  The checkpoint closes at 10:00 for a recess until it reopens later.

10:10 – Reihan Barta'a Checkpoint

Trucks were waiting and did not enter the inspection facility until 10:45.

A few people entered the terminal.

We left the checkpoint at 11:15.  We saw people planting trees for theTu Bishvat festival near the settlement of Reihan.
