5:55 Reihan-Barta'a checkpoint
Workers awaiting transportation wait at the car park; they tell us that the gates were open on time and that passage is "alright".
At 06:05 we go down the sleeve and meet many workers, men and women, coming out of the terminal. According to them, at this time it is so crowded inside that they let some get out without inspection in the machine.
Average time they spend at the checkpoint is about 40 minutes.
06:30 Crowding has subsided and the machine inspection is resumed.
07:00 Tura-Shaked checkpoint
Gates are open but passage begins only at 07:05. Again there are problems with the key to one of the gates inside the checkpoint and there is no way to operate the inspection cabin. Inspection of papers and cars is done in the green cubicle at the center of the checkpoint. People walk over there from both directions, one by one. The turnstile is freeof people and there is no one in the long, new sleeve. Passage time using this way is so short that by 07:25, all had gone through.
