Morning

Translation: Yael Bassis-Student

On Saturday March 2nd we had a normal shift, but due to personal medical problems a report hasn't been submitted. There were no outstanding events other than the ongoing occupation.

0800 – 0830 Tura-Shaked checkpoint

There is heavy traffic on both sides, more than usual. Traffic streams along. Today, for the first time, we observed an inspection of an horse (we've seen goats under inspection in the past) All go through including a herd of goats.

0810 – 0845 Barta'a-Rihan

The checkpoint is loaded as usual. Heavy traffic, mostly from the West Bank into Israel. We followed one person with our eyes, from his entrance through the first gate until his exit 20 minutes later. Most men coming out of inspection put on their belts, which is a sign for a swift passage. From talking with people we conclude that average passage time is somewhere between 15 and 30 minutes.

The usual routine of the occupation.
