Barta'a-Reihan, Tura-Shaked, Ya'bed-Dotan, Sun 21.7.13, Afternoon
Translation: Bracha B.A.
15:40 – Tura – Shaked Checkpoint
There is almost no traffic. Two cars, three people, and a donkey pulling a wagon, cross through the huge well-equipped checkpoint. We left at 16:05.
16:20 – Yaabed – Dotan Checkpoint
The checkpoint is not manned and a few cars cross through without stopping. Not far away a military commandcar parked among the olive trees is facing in the direction of Yaabed. The gate to the shortcut to Yaabed is open and we see several cars passing through. We left at 16:30.
We stopped in the village of Emricha and delivered a large bag of used clothing.
16:40 – Barta'a – Reihan Checkpoint
8 trucks loaded with merchandise are standing next to the road. There are many workers returning home from work. People are passing through quickly and the many taxi drivers are fighting to get every passenger they can. S., who is nicknamed "the Bedouin", tells us that his wife has cancer and is being treated at Tel HaShomer Hospital. She is forced to hitchhike home. We give him the telephone number for an organization called "Getting Well" [which arranged rides for sick people]. We left at 17:10.
