Afternoon

16:00 – 16:25 Tura checkpoint

Pedestrians as well as vehicles cross on both sides with no problems.

A worker from the Shahak industrial zone, who crosses in the morning through the Barta'a checkpoint, returns home from Tura.

Another worker, on his way home, tells us that in the morning the gate opened at 7:20, it was also crowded and their complaints were answered by shouting at them.

For a rather long time we've been hearing of (mostly) female soldiers who treat Palestinians rudely at this checkpoint.

16:30 Barta'a-Rihan checkpoint

Summer vacation is evident and many families with children cross on both sides. Due to renovation at the entrance to the terminal only one turnstiyle works and it is often locked for those returning from the West Bank into the Seam line zone. This causes dangerous crowding by the turnstile. Why can't they leave one turnstile open on both sides?

Many workers return at this time. Two windows are open and passage is immediate.

One illegal alien is detained with his parcels on one side.
