16:30 Tura-shaked Checkpoint
A gathering near the gate. A youth says that his two companions are prohibited from passing through with him. It turned out that the gate wasn't opeedn and they rang the bell several times. This annoyed the soldiers so they closed the checkpoint in both directions and detained and handcuffed one of the youths. People assembled and someone telephoned the head of the municipality, who arrived promptly. It turns out that the detained youth was his son. Someone arrived from the District Coordination Office (DCO) but it was useless. The soldiers said that they were waiting for the police. (Why?) The checkpoint was closed for 40 minutes. The municipality head said that it was wrong to punish a youth who lost his patience and rang a few times. After all, often soldiers are busy talking amongst themselves or on the computer and do not pay attention to those waiting outside. It’s not the end of the world…The municipality head stayed and waited for his son. We continued on.
