Morning

6:10  Agriculture checkpointA'aneen

No one is here. It turns out that the gate would open, on the Palestinians clock (winter time), within an hour. It is 07:00 for us; for them it is still 6:00 a.m.

6:30 The new Barta'a checkpoint

Here the site has opened according to the Israeli clock. People arrive at the Palestinian car park with their own cars, or by taxis. They quickly enter the terminal. Most of those coming out look around age 30.

The Holy day of the sacrifice (Id el Adcha) would be on Oct.15th.

One of the drivers said that last night, soldiers patrolled the village of Ya'abed. He could not tell if they had entered homes. Soldiers' patrols and blocking of roads have become routine.

7:30  We took the youngster Allie and his mother to Rambam hospital in Haifa.
