Afternoon

Etzion, 3 October, 2013 Afternoon
Observers: Shlomit S., Ora A., Translator: Naomi Gal

14:00 Four cars are at the parking lot. When we arrived two older men were on their way out: they both required permits to enter Israel but did not get them. One of them was told the permit was refused because he is GSS prevented and the other because he was restricted by the police.
Some people arrived and turned on the new devices that now xxxsparkle in the waiting room. Each one of them passed his card; received a number and after a short time the loudspeaker informed him he could enter. They entered and came out immediately because their request was denied. It turns out that technical wonders do not prevent refusals.

We met two young members of the family who had a Molotov cocktail thrown on their car. The father, who was seriously injured, is still not working. The family's financial situation is dire. The young men want to work but are denied entry into Israel and there is no work in the Occupied Territories. We received documents from them to pass to Sylvia and Haya that might be able to help.

We waited, but no people came out. We were told that there were no people waiting inside. But in the parking lot the same cars that were there when we arrived were still waiting.  It turned out that their owners were summoned by the GSS; they went in but haven’t come out yet.
