Afternoon

14:30 Tura-Shaked checkpoint

The place is deserted. Four soldiers inspect four vehicles which have recently crossed.

15:30  Barta'a-Rihan checkpoint

Groups of workers return home. Some carry bags of citrus fruit which they received from their employers. This time we asked how come they came out of the terminal, in the direction of the West Bank, with their belts in their hands. We were told that inspectors demanded that they remove their belts during inspection. We wondered if it has to do with the metal buckle, but one worker said they had tried taking off the buckle only and were ordered to remove the entire belt. The feeling is that this is a purely humiliation-motivated act. The God of the occupation may have the answer.

Some workers complain of delays in the recent mornings, when it is extremely cold. The explanation we were given was that they were training a new group of inspectors and thus the delay.
