Two Palestinians have been detained for inspection at the checkpoint in Hebron near Abed’s shop. One of them doesn’t have an ID. He waits patiently and is released a few minutes later. The Border Police soldier at the checkpoint behaves politely and respectfully.
The excavation at Tel Rumeida proceeds apace; a Torah lesson for women is underway on the adjoining plot of ground while Israel Defence Force soldiers insure it’s kosher.
The land on which the excavation and the Torah lesson is being conducted belongs to the principal of the Cordova school for girls. Her home has been turned into a construction site and is inaccessible.
A crew from Palestinian TV in Ramallah has come to do a story and film what’s happening around the house.
