Afternoon

15:00 Shaked-Tura  checkpoint

The checkpoint is quiet, families return home from the West Bank on foot and in vehicles. A few workers and a few commercial vehicles cross into the West Bank.

Passage is swift.

15:30 Rihan-Barta'a checkpoint

Still quiet and only a few workers return and hurry down the sleeveinfo-icon into the terminal. At the lower car park we meet them again and now they appear more relaxed and talk with us more willingly.  Those who had crossed in the morning from Yirtach still complain of the conditions there. One asks us for Sylvia's telephone number and another tells us that he had asked for a permit to visit Nazareth for a couple of days and was refused because he was not married.

Since we bought some cookies we were forced to returned through the machine at the inspection post which is surrounded by a charming Rose garden.

16:00 The stream of workers returning from Israel, Barta'a and the settlements  the Seam Line zone is picking up. But passage is quick. A few people cross from the West Bank into the Seam Line zone.
