Morning

07:30 – 08:00 Tura-Shaked

On our way to the checkpoint a soldier passes by us and mumbles to himself :"Bored, get a life, what are you doing here…" and repeats it several times. And yes. We've discovered life at the checkpoint: People, vehicles, and even a bicycle rider cross over from one side to the other without delays. Traffic is relatively slow but streams along.

08:10 – 08:40 Barta'a-Rihan

As usual the site is lively and traffic is busy on both sides.  Pedestrians, vehicles, and cabs are waiting. People seem courteous and smiling. No one wait by the terminal on both sides but one person tells us that inside it's quite crowded and he himself had to wait half an hour. According to others

who come out of the terminal passage time is "reasonable".

We watch one person who has arrived and came out within ten minutes. Apparently it has to do with the time of arrival, early morning hours are

quite busy and it eases up later on.

We ask regarding the time and were told that Palestinian time is just like in Israel, on daylight-saving time.
