Morning

06:25 Anin checkpoint

Clothes are scattered at the entrance to the checkpoint, apparently leftovers of the hand-me- down clothes we bring for the residents, and which were not allowed inside the village.

A female soldier tells us that 14 people have crossed today.

06:45  The checkpoint closes. I pick up an hitchhiker, a member of the redhead family from Anin. He says enthusiastically : "Jews and Arabs have lived together for years in Morocco, Syria and other countries. I'm a good Muslim. A good Muslim does not kill, he is not even allowed to chop down a tree. Those are false Moslems, do you understand?"

Yes, I do.

7:00  Barta'a

So many comments of  "Good morning"…."Come every day"…. "When you come passage is faster"….

At this time people go through in an ongoing stream. There is no pressure like at the early morning hours.

07:40   I leave

07:50  Tura

A few pedestrians cross.  "All is ok," they tell me, as usual.

Sleepy atmosphere, and all of it appears unnecessary (to my eyes).

All have gone through and I was left alone with the soldiers.

08:14  I leave.
