Tura Shaked Checkpoint, 15:40

The pastoral quiet was broken by several vehicles arriving that bore logos and ranks of the Palestinian Authority police.  They were visiting villages in the seamline zone.  They are accompanied by the mukhtars (mayors) of the villages and the administrators from the PA.  They are not delayed and are not required to show crossing permits.

Reihan – Barta'a Checkpoint, 16:30

There are many people crossing in both directions.  The kiosk continues to do business at the expense of the local population.   There is a growing line at the entrance to the checkpoint and complaints regarding work permits.  A lot of people return from work through this checkpoint, but there is only one window operating and people are being delayed.   More people have obtained permits to cross at Reihan – Barta'a in the morning, creating even more congestion in the morning.   We should clarify the matter to see whether this is making things easier or more difficult for people.
