Once again, a case of a ‘mountain out of a molehill’.

On 9.7.13 we reported on the hearing of Ahmed Abu Hashem, where the police investigator stated confidently that there was evidence to support the claim that Abu Hashem distributed money to encourage rock throwing, and that there were several incriminators.

Yesterday Abu Hashem was released and sent home.

Judge: Lieut.-Col. Menahim Lieberman

Prosecutor: Captain Dvir Wiesel

Defense: Nery Ramati

Suspect: Ahmad Halil Abed Abu Hashem – ID 995546645

After a short discussion, the judge handed down his decision, ordering the release of the suspect, provided he deposits 2000-shekel bail to ensure his reporting to future hearings. If an indictment is not issued in six months, he will be reimbursed.

We have written often about the uphill job of trying to retrieve deposits. We wish them luck. At any rate, Abu Hashem’s brother and son immediately went to post the bail. In the evening, Abu Hashem enjoyed an Iftar meal with his family.
