Afternoon

15:30 Tura-Shaked checkpoint

Rainy and cold. Little traffic. We  find shelter from the rain at the beginning of the covered sleeveinfo-icon leading to the checkpoint. A soldier approaches us asking us to leave this closed military zone. He  appears somewhat uncomfortable.

On our way to the Ya'abed/Dotan checkpoint, we see once again the military Jeep, parked with full lights at an exit from an orchard, facing Ya'abed.

16:00 – Ya'abed-Dotan checkpoint

A convoy of 10 vehicles waits to cross into area "A". Two soldiers share the work. At times they check the car through the window and at other times they request papers and open the trunk.

When this line goes through passage begins for several vehicles from the side of the West Bank.

16:15 Barta'a-Reihan checkpoint

We go down the sleeve along with many workers who return home to villages in the West bank. Following the turnstile there are two inspection machines at a new location, which we can see. Only one works and it seems that workers are delayed at that machine. Perhaps they don't know how to operate it? Maybe the machine is slow? A few go to windows which we are unable to see. The windows are not operational and workers return to the automated inspection machine; the line grows longer. We try to find someone who can help. Finally we find somebody who tells us officially that there is a problem.

For quite some time now we are aware of problems at the automated inspection posts.

17:00  We leave.,
