Afternoon

12:15 – Tura-Shaked  checkpoint

The checkpoint is still closed and deserted. Then a Jeep arrived and circled the site.

On the Tura side school children and others were waiting. This the first time for me to view the strange reality where children are required to cross a checkpoint on their way to school, under the inspection of armed soldiers!

At 12:30 passage has begun. The children and the rest of those waiting crossed quickly. The winds were so strong that the soldiers' lavatories had flown away.

13:00 Ya'abed-Dotan checkpoint

There is a long line on the eastern side, going West. Inspection is slow and all vehicles are inspected. One vehicle is detained, waiting on the side. We do not know whether there is a problem with the driver or with the car.

Lines are still long, even after deciding not to inspect each vehicle.

13:40  Reihan-Barta'a checkpoint

On the West Bank side all car parks are full. Vehicles are also parked on the side of the road.

Ruti is looking for H. to inquire about his last week's detention. It appears that things have been sorted out.

On the Seam Line zone side it is rather quiet, since workers haven't returned yet.

14:15  We left.
