Hebron, South Hebron Hills

A particularly quiet shift – as though everyone’s resting after the holidays.   The occupation continues as wickedly as ever – the Palestinians are installing a handrail for pedestrians along the road up to Tel Rumeida.  Palestinian vehicles are forbidden to drive on that road.

At the entrance to the Avraham Avinu neighborhood, two soldiers under a banner posted by the Jewish settlers in Hebron prevent a Palestinian from going through.  You couldn’t find more appropriate symbolism.
