Morning

05:55  Rihan-Barta'a checkpoint

The upper car park is full of workers awaiting transportation, sitting on the curb holding cups of coffee. Workers keep coming out of the sleeveinfo-icon. The terminal is quiet. Three windows are open and passage is swift.

06:30  Anin checkpoint

The gate is still locked and the DCO car is already there. Soldiers arrive a few minutes later and at 06:40 passage begins. Twenty persons and seven tractors cross.   A woman andher 12-year-old son are denied passage. We are told that the reason is the son (apparently he is not registered on the mother's ID card). A man is delayed and a few minutes later he is called back (lack of a proper permit?) It is hard to know for sure due to the distance between us and the soldiers.

We also met the tractor driver, who has tried last week to bring in a new TV set (8/6/15 report). He told us that he sat at the checkpoint through that night and at midnight they opened the Anin gate for him and he did go through with the T.  V set.

07:00 We left while the gate was still open.

07:10  Shaked checkpoint

People leave the checkpoint towards the Seam Line zone. Crowding and shouting by the turnstile. One of those coming out reports to us that "the computer works – soldiers do not."

07:20 Things calm down. Vehicles and pedestrians cross on both sides.
