Afternoon

15:30-16:45

15:30  Tura- Shaked Checkpoint

Only a few people and one vehicle goes past from the West Bank to the area of the seam zone.  Two vehicles and 10 people pass the seam line to the barrier.  One car carries an oven to be restored in the seam zone (with the driver) claiming that the oven can be only be transferred with the coordination of the command center and only at the Baart’a checkpoint.

Although the garbage container is emptied, the dirt left around it, stinks.  The sign at the crosswalk that says “Important,” is thrown on the ground. In the surrounding settlements, they are preparing the ground for building expansion with vigor.

16:00  Reihan-Baart’a Checkpoint

People returning from Jenin.  Workers are returning from Israel and the seam zone.  At 16:15 a stream of returning workers grows stronger and next to the guard machines there is crowding (only 3 machines are working.).  Everyone who went to work in Israel in the morning through the Reihan checkpoint also has to sign-in.  The wait alongside the machines is 10 minutes long.

One of those who passes through, a man of 55 or older, who works in Israel, tells us that they won’t allow him and men his age, to pass the checkpoint gate Efrayim before 07:00 in the morning.
