Afternoon

15:05 Barta'a-Rihan checkpoint

On the way over we pick up a man who is returning from work. He is a resident of the village of Tura, adjacent to the Shaked checkpoint, but his passage permit is for Barta'a.

At the upper car park (Seam line) there are only a few cars. This is rather strange since this place is usually packed.

Many workers are returning home and the place is bustling. On the Palestinian side the Baklava peddler asks for help: How can he obtain a vending permit for the checkpoint? Whom should he turn to?

16:00 Shaked-Tura checkpoint

One car, two persons approaching, one leaving for the Seam Line zone, and the two of us. That's all.

16:10 Anin checkpoint

Many people - men, women, and youngsters return from the olive harvest. There is an atmosphere of togetherness. People meet us and act affectionately towards us.

People load sacks of olives on the tractor.

Someone complains that his brother had not received an olive picking permit.

16:40 All had gone through and we leave.
